Description Thornbury Castle
The Thornbury Castle Hotel says it is the only Tudor castle in England that has been converted to a hotel. The castle was first built 500 years ago. The hotel now has 27 rooms. Within its grounds is a vineyard that still produces wine. In the autumn guests may participate in the grape picking. The hotel is located near Bristol and 15 minutes from the M5. Most rooms have four poster or coronet beds, stone walls, and tapestries. All guestrooms have real fires and colour televisions. Guests will arrive to find a complimentary decanter of sherry. The hotel offers a free tea and coffee tray if guests request it. Wi-Fi is offered free of charge. Guests may walk the grounds of the castle if they wish. Croquet, archery, and clay pigeon shooting activities are free to guests. Falconry must be booked in advance, and there is a charge. The hotel also offers a range of massage and beauty treatments available in rooms (fees apply). The entire hotel may be booked out for exclusive use for a special occasion such as a wedding. There is a restaurant on-site that serves lunch and dinner. Pets are allowed. Parking is available free of charge.
