Within walking distance are the woods and the wide beaches, dunes and sea. Hotel Kogerstaete Texel is the right choice if you are looking for a child-friendly hotel with a homely atmosphere. The friendly host and hostess create an informal atmosphere for a pleasant stay. In this hotel guests will easily feel at home. Near the hotel you can follow a beautiful biking route; a bike rental company is closeby. Hiking enthusiasts will certainly enjoy a walk along the woods, dunes and sea. The hotel is conveniently located as a base for nice day trips, for instance to the Ecomare center. In front of the hotel there is a bus stop. In the seaside resort of De Koog there are several nice restaurants and bars. Food and Drinks Every morning between 09:00 and 10:00 h. an extensive breakfast buffet is served in the cosy breakfast room. On busy days the breakfast is available between 08:30 and 10:30 h. In the seaside resort of De Koog you can choose one of the restaurants for a pleasant dinner. The restaurants are within walking distance. Internet In the hotel guests can use wireless internet at an additional charge trough HotSpots. Other information - The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. Guests can check in until 22:00 h.- City tax: €1.50 p.p.p.n. (with a maximum of five nights).- A maximum of one child or adult can stay extra in a hotel room (not in the wellness room).- In a suite a maximum of two children / adults can stay extra. - An additional bed can be placed in the room on request. Surroundings If you would like to learn more about the nature of the Wadden islands, you can join an excursion. The Ecomare center in De Koog is very informative and certainly worth a visit. In its bird and seal sanctuary you can watch how the seals are fed between 11:00 and 15:00 h. The Mient Funfarm in Den Hoorn is a nostalgic farm / playground with karts, swings, trampolines and a merry-go-round. There are animals as well, such as peacocks, pigs, geese, a donkey, goats and rabbits.
