Zoo with a View
Taronga Zoo has been described as the most picturesque zoo in the world and I certainly would not argue with that. It is situated across the bay from the Sydney Opera house in a location called Mosman and has been its home since it was opened in 1916. Taronga Zoo is one of the most scenic zoos in the world - you can view the animals with a backdrop of Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. It is just 12 minutes across the harbour from Circular Quay at Mosman and the ferries leave ever half hour. You can also get there by bus from Wynyard bus station or by car for which there is a A$10 charge. Admission costs Adults A$32 Children A$ 17.50 Under 4 Free Seniors and Students A$ 22.50 The zoo is open daily from 9h00 to 17h00. There are several food outlets at the zoo plus ample toilet facilities. Wheelchairs are available for free and strollers can be hired for A$12 a day |
