I had heard some great reviews about the Zoo, and was told if your ever going to Sydney its one of the best places to visits in terms of finding out about the local wildlife which is indigenous to that part of the World. [Maximus-Qualitus, 15/12/2009] AUSTRALIA ZOO. ============== This is a truly stunning Zoo and when my wife and I visited we where totally bowled over by the size of the place and the total dedication to preservation which this particular zoo takes extremely seriously. We travelled from Brisbane and got off at Beerwah Rail Station, cost only $25 per person return. The zoo lays on a free shuttle bus from the station to the zoo gates. [elspeth334, 30/12/2007] Taronga Zoo has been described as the most picturesque zoo in the world and I certainly would not argue with that. It is situated across the bay from the Sydney Opera house in a location called Mosman and has been its home since it was opened in 1916. They best way to approach the zoo is by ferry from Circular Quay and the crossing takes around 12 minutes other ways are by bus from the city centre or by car.
