Marc Llewellyn asserts that the Sir Stamford is "Sydney's most deluxe hotel" and that when one goes in one will "enter the world of aristocracy". The rooms manage to live up to this praise, described as "exceptionally large and luxurious" with "good-sized marble bathrooms", the rooms on the eastern side of the Sir Stamford "have the best views over the Botanic Gardens". The hotel boasts "a prime location, just a short walk from Circular Quay and the Opera House". The writer also mentions that the hotel has a restaurant and bar and a solar-heated outdoor pool amongst other facilities. The guide reports that the room facilities include air-conditioning, minibar and safe.
