The Museum of Wooden Architecture... Everybody said it worth visiting, but I couldnt imagine its so great!
Never before I've visited an open-air museum. So, it was very unusual. I even cant call it museum but it really is. Artifacts are very unusual. These are wooden houses, churches of old times. This is an old 'mini-village'. All the buildings are different in both interior and exterior. There are houses of rich and poor people. It was very interesting to see the difference between them.
We had as a guide a very nice woman. She was very friendly and told us a history of the times when houses where built. She told us about customs and traditions of common people and of rich ones. It was very interesting story. The woman paid attention to every item in each house. So, we imagined quite nice the life and atmosphere of that times.
The only thing I dislike is that houses are extremely small and it's always crowded there. There are many groups and those who want to enter are waiting for those who exit because otherwise there's no place inside the house. I know theres nobody who's to blame that houses are so small but I guess groups should be smaller and the interval should be longer.
The best is walking along those old houses and sitting on the grass. It's calm and quiet there. And after crowded houses its really great! Just looking around and wondering how beautiful the world is...
This pleasure doesn't cost a lot and it really worth it. So, if you ever will go to the Central Russia find a day to visit Suzdal and its great Museum.
