Souter Lighthouse
Being a member of the national Trust, I often visit places in their portfolio, so saving admission costs. Its worth checking out www.nationaltrust.org for more information. Description:	Souter Lighthouse stands on the coastline close to Sunderland and offers walks along the beach and cliff top. The lighthouse itself was the first to use alternating electric current and a tour to the top of the lighthouse, where visitors can take in the views, can be taken.There are cameras and televisions on the lower floors which are broadcasting the views from the top of the lighthouse for visitors that are unable to take the steep walk to the top. Special activities for children and grown-ups are one offer throughout the year, for programme please visit website. The lighthouse offers off road parking ,a tea shop where refreshments can be bought and baby-changing facilities. Open from mid-March until end of October, 11am-5pm.
