[patricksheridan, 02/01/2012] I have traveled to many places and the Hotel Hoferer is simply the best I have ever been to.
I was so pleased with the location, the superior staff, the superb food, and outstanding service, that I decided to stay at the hotel for the last nine months. It was truly my home away from home while working in various parts of Europe. The owner Martin Hoferer and partner Barbara along with the entire staff, chefs Alex and Andy made the experience one that allows me to speak so highly of this experience.
[iiqcheck-en, 19/12/2011] Very good quality of service appreciated the free wifi in the room i will be back soon
[iiqcheck-en, 19/12/2011] it's a very good location just off the city centre - two blocks away, yet very quiet by night. staff help giving a feeling of being at home.

[Ali73, 26/08/2010] Arrived in Stuttgart without a place to stay and went to the tourist information place, asked for a cheap double room for 1 night that was local to the city and the tourist areas that we would be visiting. Offered a double room for roughly 40 euros which we booked. Arrived at Hotel Mack and found it to be the most depressing place on the face of the earth, it's situated quite near to a nightclub so have quite a few undesireables hanging round the outside which made me feel quite vunerable. Once inside it was no better-we were left standing at the front desk for about 10 minutes while the ma

[antima, 23/01/2010] Hotel Find is a place I would recommend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. As we stayed here for some days, we really appreciated the english channels like BBCone and ITV which we could watch in the evening free of charge after a long day of sight-seeing. Our room was very nice and clean. It was soundproof too, so the busy street next to it did not bother us. The breakfast was delicious..and they had this multi-grain bread also which I like a lot.
[jimmy84, 09/01/2010] I was booking my hotel on booking.com. This was very easy and convient. I found my room to be very clean and new and the price was fair too. The location of the hotel was perfect for what I wanted to do, which was to see the down town shopping center, called the konigstrasse. There is awesome restaurants all around,my personal favorite was the "Block House". It is a steak house!!!!
The other main reason for choosing this hotel was the free wireless highspeed internet, that never lagged. The owner was very helpful, which was important to me because
I am american and did not speak the langua

[Fritzthecat, 23/09/2008] Since more than 20 years Hamburg's fish market has been paying a yearly visit to Stuttgart. Annually in July the Karlsplatz, just behind the old castle, is transformed into a venue for selling fish. Or at least that's what you would expect from a market that calls itself "Hamburg Fish Market", no ?
[Fritzthecat, 22/09/2008] If you are living in Stuttgart you can easily get a bit spoiled when it comes to fairs and festivals. The city is probably best known for the Volksfest (Cannstatt Beer Festival) and its smaller version, the Fruehlingsfest (Spring Festival). Both are beer festivals, mega-events that attract several million visitors each year. Apart from that there are a number of smaller festivals throughout the year, less well known maybe but in my opinion maybe more attractive then the two big ones. One of them is the Weindorf (wine village).
[Fritzthecat, 21/09/2008] Schloss Solitude (Solitude Castle) towers high upon the hills above Stuttgart West. The rococo style castle was built as a hunting lodge for Duke Carl Eugen and supposed to serve him as a refuge from his political life, thus the name Solitude.
[Fritzthecat, 22/04/2008] Growing up in Stuttgart meant that I was always looking forward to the end of September and April almost as anxiously as I was looking forward to Christmas. Not that these were my favourite months of the year, they just happen to be the months in which the annual Spring Beer Festival and Beer Festival with their huge fun fairs are being held. Every year my grandma took me to the huge festival place in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt that is known as "Wasen", and I have some very fond memories of afternoons filled with various rides on a seemingly endless choice of children's rides, sausages in a bun,

Right at the bottom of the street, at the exit from station, you will find the tourist information office, called I-Punkt. Here you can get practical information about Stuttgart, likes maps and brochures, and are also able to buy entrance tickets to the various venues in Stuttgart. While I was living in Stuttgart I've used th

[Fritzthecat, 21/12/2007] You can find several big department stores in Stuttgart which are all located either on the central pedestrian zone the Konigstrasse - or close by. Breuninger can be found opposite of the City Hall and is probably THE store to shop in. It certainly is the most up-beat one which already is clearly recognisable from the outside. It looks more posh, the window displays in the arcades that connect the three sections of the shop at the front look more stylish and artistic than in any of the others and during the Christmas season they have the nicest decoration chestnut vendor and freshly baked wa

[Fritzthecat, 20/12/2007] As soon as you walk through one of the large and heavy entrance doors of the Markthalle you'll smell what this place is all about: Food in all varieties and from all over the world.
The scent is very fragrant and spices mix with the smell of fish, flowers and bakery. The mixture might sound odd but trust me it's delicious and a bit like a drug once you've smelled it you want to go back and have more.
Have a good look around, the building itself is well worth it. The hall was built in 1914, the era of "Jugendstil", and features a glass roof that sits on massive steel pillars. When the sun

[Fritzthecat, 18/12/2007] I was born in Stuttgart and have lived and worked there for more than 30 years. The Christmas Market was something I always looked forward to and I don't think I've missed even one while I lived in the area.
The market in Stuttgart is not only one of the oldest ones in Europe it has been mentioned first in 1692 - but also one of the largest ones. Every year there are more than 250 stands, usually always the same ones and if you go regularly like I did you'll realise straight away if there has been a change. With so many stands the variety is huge and surely there should be something for ev
