The author seems impressed by the museum which he describes as an honor to "the oldest automobile factory in the world and the invention of the motorcar". He notes that "nearly 75 historical vehicles" can be seen which include the "Daimler Reitwagen from 1885" which was the "first motor bicycle". Further vehicles he has seen include the "company's first Mercedes of 1902" and "racecars" which "date from 1899" like the "Blitzen Benz, the Silver Arrow" and the "Sauber Mercedes". He also mentions that some cars which have been "built especially to achieve speed records" are displayed in the museum

This review from an on-line car magazine is, of course, enthusiastic, saying the museum provides "an unforgettable brand experience". But first you have to get there, and the reviewer found this no easy matter, with trains connecting to shuttle buses and poor signposting. He deems it part of the "secrecy and mystique". On eventual arrival he finds "sublime architecture for unique automobiles" with its aluminium and glass cladding giving it "transparency and weightlessness".
