[hannibal, 02/04/2010] The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery in Stoke-on-Trent is one of my favourite museums outside London. I drive through the city a couple of times each month and if I have a couple of hours to spare, sometimes I like to make a detour. Stoke used to be the most important city in the British pottery industry but today it's having a hard time with high unemployment and lots of dereliction caused by the closure of the potteries that made it great. At the Potteries Museum it's still possible to remember what made Stoke an industrial giant amongst British cities.

[sheer2006, 27/07/2009] From start to finish was a total shamble. Me and 3 friends had decided to take a long weekend in Stafford to visit Alton Towers. The drive between Alton Towers and North Britannia was around 30 minutes.
Our first night coming back from Alton Towers we drove straight past the hotel as it looked nothing like we expected!! It was falling apart and looked everything but safe. Parking was terrible! For a hotel their car park would hold 6 cars.... and if you couldnt find a space, you HAD to park round the back of the Hotel in an external car park which you had to pay for!!
