Shopping is one of my pet hates and as Teesside Park is only a mile from where I live it is handy and it has all the shops I need.
The car park is free and is located in the center with all the shops around it in a horseshoe shape. So if you park your car on one side and walk around to all the shops, you need to make your way back to your car, probably weighed down with tons of shopping. This is not a problem when dry as there are walkways through the car park but if it's raining you have to walk all the way back around the way you came if you do not want to get wet and it is a fair hike.
The car park rarely gets full except at Christmas and this is a major problem as there is only one road in and one road out and everybody always wants to come and go at the same time and this causes major congestion.
There is a good selection of shops including electrical, clothing, food, beauty/pharmacy, books and toys. Coffee shops are also available for those pick me ups as are toilets and baby changing facilities. It would have been a more pleasurable place to shop if the park was all indoor especially in the winter which could easily have been achieved if the shops where in the center and the car park on the outside.
Morrison's has a big supermarket and petrol station here and this is normally the cheapest petrol in the area. Beside this is Pets at Home very good for tropical fish they always seem healthy and the staff seem very experienced.
If you want to eat in somewhere different to a coffee shop, restaurants are dotted around the park which you will have to drive too, these all have their own parking. The leisure park of Teesside Park has a pub, bowling ally, bingo, casino, cinema and more restaurants. This area gets very busy on weekends and school holidays and is a fun night out for families and groups of adults.
If you do go for a night out buses and taxi's are available from the leisure park
