[hannah_i, 12/07/2011] It's quite unusual going inside an air raid shelter, but certainly something worth doing at least once in your life. The air raid shelters obviously also have historical significance, and I would recommend a visit to people of all ages. It doesn't necessarily take long to get round the exhibit, but depending on your enthusiasm (and memories, for older guests) you can spend a couple of hours walking through the tunnels and imagining how people partially lived down there during the second world war. The air raid shelters can be found just next to Merseyway Shopping Centre and bus station.
