[more]Welcome to Scandic Malmen which is a modern and design conscious hotel with a great position in the middle of Sodermalm. The hotel was built in 1951 and was operated by Reso hotels. It was a small hotel with a few rooms. The whole building has expanded gradual with more double rooms and cosy cabin rooms. The latest renovate was made in May 2008 of all bars and the restaurant and the hotel lobby as well. Scandic Malmen have become one of the hottest places to be.
Our rooms
We have four different categories, which are standard, superior, suites and cabin rooms. Every guest have different needs and we hope that one of the four will pleasant your stay. The standard rooms have a great view over gotgatan, folkungagatan and bjorn´s tradgard. Our superior and suites you can find at the 7th floor. Get a nice cabin room one or two floors down under the hotel, here it is really quiet. The price includes hotel breakfast.
Recharging
Every guest stay at Malmen have free access to the inhouse pool a cross the street at Forsgrénska badet. They can also offer you facilities like gym, spininng, box and dance classes for a small amount. They have sauna and solarium as well.
Food and drink
Come and see John Serhal with staff in our new restaurant. We want to offer you an atmosphere with food and quality in focus. Get big portions, great service and with a interesting and charming food presentation. During the weekends and bigger holidays you deserved to get up late and rest, we serve breakfast until 2 pm in the afternoon, from may 25th we have open until 12 AM.
Get a view over Sodermalmstorg and Bjorn´s tradgard and have a cosy lunch or dinner in our smooth and still cocktailbar. Have a drink and look at the modern and oriental furnishing with influence from South Afrika and France. Let our professional bartenders help you with exciting and tasty drinks before the restaurant open.
The night is young and in lilla hotellbaren you can hear DJ´s everyday, seven days a week with a playlist playing pop, rock and jazz tracks. Livemusic several times a week as well. Enjoy the great music and drinks and go around in the bar and see the different arts on the walls.
Meetings
We can offer you total three conference rooms, our traditional room Metro one floor down under the hotel with a capacity of 25 persons. The second room we call Söder, this room have a light modern style and with art from Per Josephson on the walls. The last room is the big event hall with a capacity of 730 persons. Here we can arrange a stage and a bar for private parties.
Communications
Our location is Medborgarplatsen at Sodermalm. If you take the subway it´s on the green line and the station called Medborgarplatsen and it´s just around the corner of the hotel . We are not far from the central station only 3 minutes and to old town you have a beautiful walk a long Slussen.
