In this day and age of mass produced hyped media and popular culture seldom does architecture strike a chord and touches one's soul. Art and architecture is about arriving at a place outside the familiar and the ordinary. I have seen Thorngrove from the day building commenced 25 years ago, and followed its journey to international recognition for its singular and extraordinary accommodation. Hotels are usually about investment and returns and multi-national conglomerates. This has become a haven from the outside world and a destination in its own right, transforming the "bed for a night" into an emotional connection and experience in a living art space. Square does not exsist here, it all relates to the softness and flow of nature. The presentation is immaculate and the service outstanding. The creator is an inspiration to all who stay, even if just for one night. It is a small hotel with a giant spirit. I wish I could shout from the rooftops about this amzing place that is still a best kept secret.
