I remember when I visited this hotel it felt like entering a Chinese temple but you walk straight into the typical Van der Valk luxurious atmosphere. Everything feels very spacious and modern and again you have the beautiful titled floor. Outside it might have a Chinese feeling to it but inside there is nothing of it to be found.
There is a huge restaurant at the hotel and when I came here it was completely full! The menu is very extensive and they have something for everyone. On the menu you can find fish, meat, vegetarian and even children and senior menus. Maybe that’s the reason why it was so busy. The restaurant has the same luxurious feeling which can be found throughout the hotel. I had the beef tenderloin with creamy mashed potatoes which came at a reasonable price of 14 euros. Not bad and the meat tasted really nice so it was worth the money. An average menu costs around the 32 euros.
At the restaurant is also the breakfast served for 15 euros per person and it was a really extensive international breakfast. You had various types of bread, eggs, bacon and sausages but also different types of cereal and of course milk and yoghurt. Everything looked very well prepared and was neatly presented. The staff at the breakfast was nice and welcomed me with a smile and guided me to my table. You served me coffee and cleaned the table a few times when I was there.
They have 141 rooms so it’s a fairly large hotel. The room is a typical Van der Valk style. Large and spacious with a certain level of comfort. I always know what to expect in a Van der Valk hotel. The prices of rooms range from 95 to 130 euros for a standard room. This is the room I always stay in and they are very good. You can also get a suites and deluxe rooms but then of course you will pay more. In the room you have a large comfortable bed is good and there are all facilities of an LCD TV to Internet. The bath / shower facilities are also excellent. Everything looks clean.
I like that there is a library where you can enjoy a nice quiet read and a cup of coffee. You can also make a tour through the Chinese garden. There is also a bar in this hotel called "Cherry" and looked really nice and had a great atmosphere. You could get several drinks and the drinks were put on the hotel room bill. Always handy!
The staff I've met is friendly. The restaurant was crowded but you saw that the staff worked hard to serve to guests as soon as possible. I appreciate that. At the reception you could see the staff had experience in helping people and they always helped with a smile. A small thing but always very important. The entire hotel is disabled friendly.
You can pay in several ways. They accept American Express cards to Visa. You can also use your debit card.
The hotel is in an original building which was clearly built in a Chinese style but the inside was totally different and typical Van der Valk. The staff was friendly the room was good and the dinner and breakfast was great. It’s a great hotel for a good price and definitely worth your money.
