[more]Onze Rust is one of the oldest farms in the Stellenbosch district dating back to 1715. It held the original title deed of the land on which some wine farms in the surrounding area were later established.
The old Victorian house, located only 50 metres from the natural fountain, is a reminder of an era when people built with clay. Even nowadays the thick walls keep the building cool in summer and warm in winter. The building has sustained major damage due to 2 fires, but was restored to its original glory on each occasion.Stellenbosch is 30 minutes away from Cape Town, and Onze Rust is only 15 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. It is a few kilometres form the N2 motorway which links Cape Town to the South Coast and nearby beaches of Strand and Gordon’s Bay.By Car
From Cape Town International Airport:
- Take the N2 motorway towards Somerset West.
- Turn left onto the Baden Powell off-ramp towards Stellenbosch.
- Travel 6 kilometres before turning left onto Vlaeberg Road (next to Aspidistra Nursery).
- Cross the railway line and continue for 3.5 km. Turn left into Onze Rust.
From Stellenbosch:
- Take the M12 road signposted Adam Tas / Kuilsrivier / Airport out of town
- Travel 9 km and turn left into the Vlaeberg Road
(see tennis club on the left-hand side, and Polkadraai Padstal right before turning)
- About 1 km later on lies Onze Rust on the right-hand side.With historic buildings dating back to 1715, this guest house’s unique setting in the heart of the Cape Winelands provides the perfect tranquil setting for restoring your energy and vision.
Onze Rust is a bed and breakfast with a natural fountain surrounded by a lush indigenous garden and dam. It is the ideal starting point from which to discover the wineries, golf courses and beaches in the local area.Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 15 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled up to 1 day before date of arrival, 50 percent of all nights will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: Children older than 4 years are welcome.
One child under 12 years is charged ZAR 100.00 per night in an extra bed.
Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy: 50 percent of the total amount will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable.
VAT and city / tourist taxes: VAT is included.
