Description:	Take a trip back in time to the year 1066 in Mountfitched Castle & Norman Village . The only motte & bailey castle in the world that has been reconstructed on its original site invites the visitor to walk around & join the village life of the 11th century. Visit the Blacksmith, the Bakehouse or the pub, smell the smoke of the fire-places, have a glimpse into the prison and visit the King in his castle for dinner - but be aware of your doings or you might end up being put in the stocks ! Most of the attractions are fully interactive and there a number of free living animals on the site which might be touched and fed. Snack bar, souvenir shop and toilets on the site. Open from March to November from 10 am to 5 pm daily.
