I lived in St. Andrews for about ten years while I was growing up. The Algonquin hotel is the first thing that many people think of when they think of St. Andrews. The big imposing structure on the hill. We had theories of haunted towers. Someone from Quebec who came to speak at our school asked a friend of mine what that impressive building was. He said, "That's where the King lives." I laughed forever. I was about eleven. Having grown up in St. Andrews, it' always been a nice place to go back and visit.
