Hotel Dar-Es-Salam....one my favorite places to visit in the world........the hotel with its old imperial charm is one of the best in the valley...the family has paid attention to impeccable details and the father and son duo make sure every guest gets that extra bit of personal attention that many of us absolutely love on holdays!! I recommend it to people you like to enjoy serenity and calm in a classy and very friendly environment..

The size of the rooms arent overly large but are more than made up for by the classy common areas which the family has left as they were originally for the guests to enjoy....The bathrooms and rooms are cleaned daily and excellently....you can get that extra bit of attention and time from your room service waiter who is more than happy to assist you with more than just usual questions and queries....dont be surprised if you walk into the lawn out of the 'shikara' or out of a car in the driveway to be greeted by your waiter with an umbrella!!

The hotel have chefs that have been with them for decades and who have past on receipes for generations.....there is a mouth watering array of the traditional kashmiri wazwan.....authentic awadh dishes from imperial India as well as a brlliant spread for the vegetarians....My husband was a vegetarian and loved the food too!!
