[martanikolova, 04/01/2012] I have been there so many times, I don’t even know how many. This is a wonderful place to spend some quality time with your close ones. Beautiful nature, long paths, nice cabins and huts for tourists. Vitosha is a national park and provides the perfect opportunity to ski or have a walk, or just take the lift or have a quick bite in the open. I don’t ski, but I still have an amazing time there. I love the open lift and I love walking around the forest.

[vald, 03/04/2009] Simeonovo Lakes are artificial lakes in the Nature Park Vitosha, close to Sofia. The lakes are favorite place for weekend walking for my family. The place is situated on low altitude, so it is accessible throughout the year. Consider that it is in the mountain, so in winter there is deep snow. You can go to Simeonovo Lakes via Sofia's district Simeonovo. The walk from the residential area to the Lakes is pleasant and takes around 30 min. The path is flat and wide. [Uinen, 13/03/2009] Just 10 kilometers from the capital Sofia is Vitosha Nature Park a favorite place to run away to during the weekend. Since I have not learned skiing and snowboarding, I go hiking every time I get a chance. There are also lifts, in case you do not feel like walking up the steep slope. On the top, under Cherni Vrah (Black Mount), is situated Aleko hut and a couple other lodgings, where you can spend the night or just grab something to eat and drink while you rest. Vitosha is "one of the symbols of Sofia". It is a mountain massif located "on the outskirts" of the capital.
