[more]The church St. Georgi Pobedonosec (George the Victorious) is located in the central part of Sofia, near the popular 5-Corners intersection. The temple was built at the beginning of 20th century and was consecrated on 11 November 1918 - the day of Saint Mina.
The church is famous for holding the relics of St. Ivan Rilski. The building is a three-nave basilica with three consecrated thrones, the right one is dedicated to St. Ivan Rilski, and the left one is dedicated to St. Vasilii Veliki.
The temple is popular for weddings and baptism ceremonies organised mostly at the weekends. Around the church there is garden and playground for children.
The temple feast is celebrated on the day of St. George - 6th of May.
It is open daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
