The National History Museum in Sofia, was opened in 1973, but in the present building (ex house № 1 of the Government residence) since 2002.

The museum holds collections of household items, garments, embroidery fabrics, jewellery, furniture, ecclesiastical garments and accessories, chest decorations and artwork. Military is represented by weapons, documents and uniforms.
The museum is located in the lap of Vitosha mountain, about 10 km from city center.

November to March from 9am to 5.30pm
April to October from 9am to 6pm
Closed during public holidays - January 1, March 3, 24 and 25 Dec.
Fees for adults 5 Euro, students 0.5 Euro, children under 7 - Free
Admission is free the last Sunday of each month.
