Being the only hotel in Soelden that managed to achieve a 5 star rating from the Austrian government, the Central also scored a very respectable 2 stars from Frommers, their second highest rating available. The chalet is situated centrally, right next to the river. Darwin Porter describes the interior design as full of "regional details", such as "glowing wooden floors" and "beautifully grained timbers". The review starts by telling us the hotel has "Huge arches and heavy wooden timbers" these accentuate the "antique furniture" and set the atmosphere in this "massive riverside hotel". Bedrooms we are told are "spacious" with luxurious furnishings. When staying in the Central hotel half board is "standard" in the "intimate" restaurant, which is the "best in town". Foders recommends the "fillet of venison" and suggests you should not miss out on the "excellent desserts".
