[TanaN, 20/09/2011] If going to Sintra, you must visit also Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe.
Accesibility of Cabo da Roca is good, but time consuming. There are regular bus services from Cascais to Sintra both ways (ask the staff at train station for more info). From Sintra it take about 1 hour to reach Cabo da Roca, due to narrow road and traffic.
But once, you undertake this trip you will not regret. The view of ocean is gorgeous. Blue water of Atlantic ocean making the perfect match with the green flora and gray-yellow cliffs.
It's better to save some extra time for the trip to C
