The caves at Shoshone are one of the natural wonders of the world and if you want to descend into the 1000 ft long lava tube and explore the trails don't forget to wrap up warm. Due to air currents within the tubes the water in the caves is frozen all the time and guides will explain the geologic, volcanic, and historical background of the ice caves to you. Above ground there is a museum that showcases Indian artifacts, gems and minerals. The ice caves are located 16 miles to the North of the village Shoshone. Opening times : May-Sept. 8am - 8pm daily, last tour begins at 7pm Closed during the winter season Admission fees: Adult $6 Seniors $5.50 Children 5-14 years of age $3.75 |
