[Johnsski, 31/01/2012] And it's not even that cheap.....
Cold room, paper thin walls (so can hear people talking in adjacent rooms), cold shower (& only a dribble), breakfast minimal quantity / scope and not served when stated & pets in the dining area - 1 night was too much!
[Sblake, 17/08/2011] We booked for my sons graduation this year and it was the first time we had used apartments in Sheffield,
We booked the acommodation over the telephone with a gentleman called Jordan who was very helpful and made the whole process quick and simple.
After the phone call we recieved all confirmation by email and details of our stay.
We arrived to be met by Jordan who checked us into our apartment, the apartment was superb and had a fabtastic view onto the back of the City Hall,
We stayed two nights and we had everything we could have asked for and cannot say anything bad about our stay.

[Praskipark, 03/05/2011] On my recent trip to the UK you may recall I visited my home town of Sheffield. I call it my home town but only because it is the city where I have lived the longest (19 years). One of the areas we went back to see was Broomhill where my son lived for the first year of his life. As well as viewing his old home which hadn't changed at all he was desperate to find a fish restaurant that he had seen on line and recommended by Aynsley Harriot. That particular afternoon we were all starving as we had been travelling the night before and not really eaten anything at all except a sausage buttie at Do

[dangaroo, 25/04/2011] Last September, I decided to take my family to my birthplace: Sheffield. It had been about 8 years since I'd been there and about 12 since I'd lived there. I decided to show them my old school which is located in the Broomhill part of the city. Broomhill is a student area and rather unsurprisingly is on a hill.
Fulwood Road is a road that leads across the top of it and is lined with shops, pubs and restaurants. Having arrived at the Robin Hood Airport in the early morning and been travelling since 2am, we began to do some sightseeing and had worked up an awful hunger by mid-afternoon. Undeci

[gail23, 26/03/2011] I just loved Wortley Hall, I first used the Hall attending a conference then decided to visit with my husband staying on a Dinner B&B Offer which is extremly good value for money! The restaurant food was wonderful and the staff are all helpful and friendly you can tell you they care about you and you are not just a number as in many hotels. If you have never been give it a go you will love it!
[cazzab777, 14/02/2011] Don't go if romance, luxury, feeling spoilt, special is on your agenda. The "executive double ensuite" was twin beds pushed together. Hard ledge and sinks in the middle, holding hands in the middle was uncomfortable. Badly made bed with one sheet direct onto mattress (unhygenic), very very thin douvet in mid-winter in a cold room. My partner was so disappointed on sight, he "up-graded" to..well a colder, bigger room with more twin beds.
Bathrooms are sold as luxurious - our bath was no better than Travel Lodge. Neither had "walk in showers" as on the website. Shabby windows, cushions, marks

[micksheff, 07/11/2010] Armed with two young kids excitedly waving around their pumpkin lanterns I headed off to Sheffield city centre for Fright Night, which has become a bit of a ritual. It always takes place on the Sunday before Halloween bit since this year Sunday fell on Halloween (31st October 2010) it was actually held on the right day.
The first Fright Night took place in 2000 so this was its 10th anniversary and we were promised something special. The main event takes place between Fargate and the Millennium Gardens, adjacent to the Town Hall but it is so huge that it spills out onto Pinstone Street and Leo

[Praskipark, 06/10/2010] I have to admit I am not usually crazy about staying in hotels that belong to a chain. I much prefer to look out for unusual and obscure establishments but on my trip to England the other week I knew we were visiting Sheffield which is the city I always call home having lived there the longest (over 19 years) and where my son was born. The reason for the trip was to show my Polish daughter-in-law the sights of Steel City and as we would be staying over needed a room.
Now, I totally dipped with this booking because I was under the impression that my son had booked a family room in the Ibis un

[fizzytom, 20/06/2010] A low budget weekend getaway called for a low cost hotel. I remembered someone saying that the Accor family member Etap now had a hotel in Sheffield but, situated by the Don Valley Stadium, it was a little too far out of town to be practical for such a short stay.
We were quoted £49 for a double room (including a £10 discount) with a bonus multi-media package, usually costing £9.99 for 24 hours, free of charge. However, on arrival at the hotel we saw a notice in reception saying that the price for a standard double for one or two people was £54. Usually you can get a cheaper price by bookin

[Mozzie, 26/05/2010] We have stayed at the Kenwood Hall Hotel a number of times over the last 2-3 years and have found it to be very reasonably priced and offering good sized and well equipped rooms. The leisure club is an added benefit and well worth using. The hotel is not centrally located, but it's an easy drive into Sheffield city centre. The garden is a feature with some rooms having very pleasant views down to the small lake. Service has generally been very good, and the hotel food we have found to be fine for the price charged.
[Tpinki, 27/04/2010] we booked so we could go to see biffy clyro, but as we were booking, it sold out, a few seconds before i booked this hotel. They refused a refund, and stated that if i cancelled the room would be re sold , and still none of that would be refunded to us! Its also non transferrable, to people or different dates. The staff were quite snooty, but were correct as it was all in their terms and conditions / cancellation policy. I will read all that much more carefully in future, and ill not touch this hotel ever again.
[hbk2, 24/01/2010] After missing the last train home to london - after attending a concert at the sheffield arena- i was strangded with in sheffield with a friend . We were turned away from 7 different hotels , and at 2 in the morning - we finally went to the Priory Lodge . They (the owners) were very friendly and let us stay in one of there rooms for a discounted price. The breakfast that they purveyed was very good and they even helped us pay the taxi fare to the station in the morning.
[PaulDavid, 09/12/2009] Had a great stay at wortley Hall, had both Bar meal and meal in restaurant both were of a high standard and good value as were the drinks in the bar! Our room was clean and tidy and serviced well everyday. We found all staff to be very friendly and helpful. The Grounds are beautiful, we will definatley be going back.
[JanePQ, 08/12/2009] I came for a meal in the Restaurant on Saturday evening it was perfection!
The Fondant Potato that was served with the chicken was excellent and wonderfully Presented. A new wine list had apparently just been put in place and our wine choice was perfect and recomended by the staff.
If you like quality food rather than fast food you are in for a treat!
[Wirehead, 04/11/2009] Our anniversary dinner was ruined by failures of the restaurant at Wortley Hall.
The portions of food are not nouveau cuisine - the starters were quite simply minute and very poor value for rmoney.
Ditto for most of the main courses.
The wrong main course was served to one of the key guests. The replacement arrived 10 minutes later when everybody else had finished. No hot vegetabeles were brought with the replacement main course. The vegetable (1 instead of 2) arrived 10 minutes later at which point the meat would have been cold if I had not eaten it without veg.
The wine we ordered was n

[kanyejones, 27/10/2009] The hotel is pretty poor to be honest, but at the same time, good value. You get what you pay for.
However, I just wanted to put a review up to suggest that you watch your credit card details. They charged our card after we left, and made up a story that the room was messy. This was a complete fabrication. No proof was provided of this and it really felt like a scam.
I have since heard of another couple who this happened to. Just wanted to place this friendly warning on the internet.
[Don_Valli, 01/08/2009] One or two problems following the Sheffield flood in 2007 and vandalism to the two fantastic bridges. However, will fully re-open 15 Aug 2009 apparently. Not the most beautiful walk and suffers badly from the litter louts but very interesting and worth seeing.
[Mick999999, 30/07/2009] Stayed at this 'hotel' in March 2009. We were booked in by friends who had heard it was ok. It was terrible. The carpet was dirty and did not fit the room properly, the bed sheets were not clean with blood / make up stains on them. The room was damp and not secure. The shower was like something out of the Borat movie. Overall this place wa so unpleasant I did not want to put any of my belongings on the floor. It reminded me of cheap contractors lodgings from about 10 years ago. absolute disgrace, avoid at all costs.
[micksheff, 14/06/2009] On Saturday 25th April 2009 I attended the Last Laugh Comedy Club at Sheffield's City hall as part of a birthday celebration for a couple of friends. It was my first visit to this show but due to its popularity it is necessary to book tickets well in advance so having had the tickets since the beginning of the year it was something that I had been looking forward to.
The Comedy Club takes place every Friday and Saturday night. It is held in the Memorial Hall, which has a seating capacity for 500 people and invariably always sells out. The acts are usually only announced a few weeks in advance
