[ngraffie, 03/01/2011] IBEROTEL IL MERCATO HOTEL REVIEW
As the pick-up coach meandered from the airport slowly making its way towards the centre of IL Mercato Promenade, it was then I first clapped eyes on Iberotel IL Mercato Hotel. Although it was near midnight, there was no mistaken this newly built property’s grandeur and elegance. I knew instantly from my first sighting that I had chosen wisely to spend the next fortnight from the 25 October to 8 November 2010 here.
The Iberotel IL Mercato had only been opened since October 2010. Although a contemporary building, the features, décor and design were clearl

[Bella24, 02/07/2010] Meal and animation are perfect. But I wouldn't recommend this hotel to young people
[househusband, 01/07/2010] Like most hotels it has it's good and it's bad points but on reflection the good points far outweigh the bad ones.
Our first taste of the hotel was the security at the entrance checking every vehicle ,which we were soon to find out was because several heads of state were staying there for a conference ,which in itself shows the standard of the place. The reception staff could not have been more friendly and helpfull and we were soon sitting in the back of a golf buggy being taken to our rooms .The rooms themselves were amazing, we had executive rooms and they are massive ,the largest we have e

[ciaraoreilly, 28/06/2010] I loved this hotel, the staff couldnt have been nicer the hotel was beautiful it had everything we could have asked for. The beach was fab with great weather, we even took up the diving had a great day.
[koshkha, 28/06/2010] It's a complete mystery to me why anyone who doesn't dive would go to Sharm-el-Sheikh. It's a horrible place and only the fish make up for the general yukkiness of the city. If it weren't for sharks and wrecks you couldn't PAY me to go through Egyptian immigration with several hundred rude Russians. So for me, Ocean Club is a haven in a city that I hate. Or to be more precise, it's a haven because it isn't in the city and it isn't full of people who want a beach and pool holiday.
Ocean Club is first and foremost a hotel that serves the dive trade. It's not in the city, it's not even close to

[koshkha, 23/06/2010] The Iberotel Palace in Sharm was previously the Riu Palace and before that the Intercontinental. My husband and I stayed there 10 years ago when it was the Riu Palace. We booked a dive holiday through a small dive-specialist and this was where they placed us.
Once you've braved the ludicrous so-called 'system' of buying visas and fighting with the Russians to get through passport control (my advice, give up and let them win, you don't have a chance), it's about a 20 km ride to the hotel. It's not in the main resort of Sharm but is tucked out on the waterfront about 10 km from Naama Bay. If

[polaheather, 21/06/2010] The hotel makes a good first impression but later on you discover that it has got problems with hygiene - the biggest problem is drinking water which is not given in bottles but you take them from several dispensers. there were days when this water was left in the sun, or others when it tasted horrible like a water taken from river or lake... on the 3rd day we got seriuosly ill - we had strong stomach ache, and we had to take an injection:(
[slesz1, 28/01/2010] great value for money, great location and beach. highly recommended!
[greg6900, 15/09/2009] The hotel was very plain, food, entertainment was not much good, the location was horrid, nowhere to go, nothing to do in the hotel. It was noisy, from a main road and sewage plant. You were pestered everywhere you went (inside the hotel) from people trying to sell you something. All inclusive didnt cover half what you would expect.
An awful experience at an awful place.
Stay away
[garymarsh6, 10/09/2009] St. Catherine’s Monastry. Sinai, Eygpt.
St. Catharine’s Monastry a designated UNESCO site can be found in Sinai Eygpt at the base of Mount Sinai in a tiny little gorge which appears to be in the middle of nowhere. It is reputed to be the oldest working monastery in the world. It is of significant importance not only for Greek Orthodox Christians but also Islam.
It is primarily a Greek Orthodox Christian monastry but within the walls of the monastry there is a mosque for the passing nomadic Bedouins some of whom still live within the walls helping the monks in their day to day lives.

[maryqueenofscarborough, 29/01/2009] BUONGIORNO!! I stayed in the grand plaza may 2007 and yes the italians do think they own the hotel (and they dont the egyptians do of course!) and they can be quite annoyin but them aside the hotel is fantastic. I love my food and this is the only reason i go all inclusive (ok that and the vodka!) and the food is a bit bland but still fresh and delicious. I couldnt get enough of it! If it wasnt for the Pharaoh's Curse (the poops!) i would have come home 2 stone heavier! (oh imagine the extra baggage cost at the airport!). The staff are all lovely in the hotel and the second they hear an englis

[niddaljamali, 20/12/2008] This hotel resembles the most careless and irresponsible hotel I have ever seen.
It was the 1st and 2nd of December, in room 110
Firstly, we reserved a double queen bedroom and received a double single bedroom, this resulted in us having to squeeze in at bed time instead of relaxing, that was for 2 adults and 2 children.
In addition to this, we were in the unfortunate situation of our 4month old infant getting sick on the very first day of our vacation, his temperature reached 39.5C, a very worrying time for us. I called the front disk asking for help, they arranged for a Paediatrici

[serendipity, 20/09/2008] Ras Mohammed national park
When we went to Sharm el Sheik with Little Miss, one of the things she was really keen to do was to see the fish in the Red Sea and also to see the animals.
As you do before you go anywhere (as i do), we had a look on the internet to find out about the place and to see if there was anything nearby which may be of interest to a youngster who has a real interest in wildlife. I came up with this place, and so when we got to egypt, it became a "must do".
This is the first and only Egyptian National Park and was declared one in 1983; in that time, it has become
