[fhaffar, 01/12/2011] The hotel, which is located in a very convenient area of Shanghai, and very close to the Line 2 underground station, in fact, you can go to the station via the shopping center adjacent to the hotel.
My stay was very comfortable and I enjoyed the views from my room as well as all the convenient shops and nearby banks and very large shopping mall.
The staff at the hotel were most efficient, clean, disciplined and well mannered and were always on the look out to help the guests.
It really was a great hotel
[JohnEdwardsIII, 31/08/2011] Had a great stay here, the service impeccable; everyone professional and extremely polite and kind. The location is just great; 5 minutes walk to the underground, 5 minutes to the Bund and in between 2 airports. The concierge are fabulous and had some great local recommendations.
Looking forward to return again soon.
[JahKim, 24/11/2009] Stay at LeMeridien or the Hilton when in Shanghai. Westin Shanghai is horrible! Stay Elsewhere! Rude staff, horrible service, if you can get service that is. They just want to charge you three times what you would pay at the Hilton and offer you a room one third the size. They rather charge you for internet than have you back again. They rather sway you in with SPG / starwood programs and then treat you like you walked in off the street. A great lobby and shopping are no excusses for horrble treatment. Stay Elsewhere! [AndrewPo, 12/09/2008] The Sofitel Hyland Hotel was a very good, modern hotel in a fairly standard, expensive international style, but in an ideal location in the centre of Shanghai. It is apparently very well run, with a good, if a little pricey, restaurant. But most important of all, it has it's own brewery and it even brews it's own dark beer; not just Chinese style lager, but full-bodied brown beer as well.
[Orten, 22/08/2008] Nice, quiet hotel with polite staff, clean rooms and proper aircondition. Breakfast is average and expensive, and internet connection is not very good. Overall: A good stay with minor flaws.
[boblo, 21/07/2008] Although this hotel claims luxury-class standing, it equates to only average-class hotels in the Americas or Europe. For example: Although the hotel offers an in-room safe, it is disabled by the loss of power that occurs any time you leave your room, offering NO security for valuables or passport. So while claiming to be luxury-class, it is merely a half-assed attempt to appear as such.
[ChocolateLady, 28/06/2008] For people who have to travel for work, even if they end up in exotic locations like Shanghai, the place they have to stay can be either the bane or the blessing of their trip. My husband just came back from his second work trip to Shanghai where he stayed at the Crowne Plaza Pudong and thankfully for him, it was the latter. [toombsey, 24/05/2007] Located in the heart of Shanghai, this rather strangely designed tower offers an opportunity to view Shanghai from 468m. It is the tallest tower in Asia and the third tallest in the world.
There are three large spheres called space modules in the tower. These act as viewing platforms from inside.
There are several different types of ticket to buy which allow you to go to different levels. We bought the most expensive which sends you first to the round segment near the bottom of the tower. The second stop is s lift up to the top section. Here the views are much better. The third stop is

[toombsey, 24/05/2007] I feel that this hotel has pretty much everything a business traveller would require. It is not a tourist hotel as it is too far away from the major attractions of Shanghai, although transport can be easily used nearby.
The quality of the room was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly.
