Our Chef combines classic Mediterranean and Chilean recipes with a dash of native flavor to create an original range of culinary delights. The Atacama Desert is a land of unique diversity. It is an eerie lunar landscape in places, cool, lush river canyons in others. In some parts rain has not touched this parched land for the past three hundred years while summer can bring rainstorms in the surrounding mountains. It can be vast empty stretches of rock, salt, and sand, and an explosion of life at the same time. Alto Atacama’s 32 rooms are spacious, comfortable, and conducive to a good night’s sleep after an action-packed day. The decoration is rustic yet elegant, with local crafts adding warmth and character. Each room has a private terrace; the perfect spot to absorb the colors and silence of the valley.
