Description
Casa do Amarelindo is a charming hotel, nestled in a fully restored XIXth century building in the heart of Pelourinho, historical district of Salvador
[more]Casa do Amarelindo is a charming hotel, nestled in a fully restored XIXth century building in the heart of Pelourinho, historical district of Salvador classified UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in 1985, famous for its colorful houses, beautiful baroque churches, museums, typical stone-paved alleys constantly echoed with batucada rhythm or capoeira shows.
Ideally located on the Pelourinho carnival circuit, facing the marvellous Baia de Todos os Santos (All Saints’ Bay), Casa do Amarelindo is situated just within reach of all restaurants, bars, recreation facilities, festivals and shows which make this historical district of Salvador world-famous. Today, no other hotel of this category enjoys the privilege of offering to its guests such a feeling of peace and well-being right in the heart of the most colorful district of Salvador. In addition, fast and easy access to the most beautiful beaches of Salvador as well as to the islands of Itaparica and Morro de São Paolo is also guaranteed.
Casa do Amarelindo has ten high standard rooms, a swimming pool, a gastronomic restaurant, two bars, a solarium, a fitness centre, a business centre, as well as two interior tropical patios, all situated in a five floor building with a lift to all floors.
Each one of the ten rooms combines comfort and luxury. The decoration is inspired by the Bahia colonial culture with a touch of the African influence which is so characteristic of the history of Salvador. Most of the rooms have a breathtaking view of the Baia de Todos os Santos (All Saints’ Bay). In addition, various rooms have a private terrace overlooking either the bay or the city.
Everything has been thought of to guarantee a maximum of well-being, far from the cheerful bustle in the streets of Pelourinho. The rooms are equipped with either a king-size bed or with two big twin beds which can be assembled to one incredible huge bed. High quality bedding, pure cotton sheets and duvet eiderdowns are provided for to guarantee sweet and refreshing sleeps which not even the echo of the Pelourinho feasts that may continue all night long will disturb thanks to the sound insulation of the doors and windows. All rooms have of course air conditioning and are moreover equipped with a ceiling fan, traditional symbol of the colonial rooms. Even in the heart of the festivities, the sleep of the Casa do Amarelindo guests is sacred.
LCD, TV, DVD and CD player (free access to a selection of movies at the reception), electronic safe, mini-bar, hairdryer, free broadband internet access, hydro massage bath tub or tropical rain shower add to the comfort of the Casa do Amarelindo rooms, a true quiet haven in this so bustling district.
Finished with the time limit for taking breakfast!
In order to release guests from any constraint, Casa do Amarelindo gives you the free choice of where and when to take your breakfast all day long (restaurant, around the swimming pool, in your room, on your private terrace or on the terrace with the panoramic view). Breakfast consists of a real meal prepared especially for you, with hot beverages (the famous Brazilian coffee, but also tea and chocolate), fresh fruit juices (orange with acerola, caju, guava, etc.), a warm special of the day, dairy products, fresh fruits (papaya, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, etc.) beijus (small manioc pancakes) as well as other tasty local specialties.
Casa do Amarelindo is the only hotel in the Pelourinho district to have a swimming pool with view of the Baia de Todos os Santos (All Saints’ Bay) giving you the impression of diving directly into the sea. Reserved exclusively for the Casa do Amarelindo guests, perfectly oriented for sunbathing, the swimming pool allows you to relax and refresh yourself at any time of the day followed by a sweet rest in comfortable easy chairs whilst admiring the panorama.
The bar is covering two green patios, in a tropical garden atmosphere, cooled by a tropical breeze. The caipirinha is the true star (the classical cocktail with lime), but you can also enjoy different ones prepared with the fabulous Brazilian tropical fruits (caja, caju, umbu, siriguela, graviola, passion fruit, etc.); a choice of the best cachaças (Brazilian cane sugar alcohol) from Bahia and Minas Gerais states is used for the caipirinha that definitely has a taste of holiday.
Emphasis is put on tropical cocktails from all over the world, such as Mai Tai, Margarita, Ti-punch, Mojito, Piña Colada and Singapore Sling, as well as fresh seasonal fruit juices. It’s just magic!
Our barman will be happy to share the secrets of an unforgettable caipirinha with you.
If you feel a bit hungry, do not hesitate to taste our petiscos menu (typical Brazilian tapas).
In the daytime the restaurant offers light options like salads, sandwiches and tapas.
For dinner, in a refined atmosphere, the restaurant offers very tasty food with the tropical touch of Bahian recipes, honoring the local ingredients and flavors, prepared in a modern manner that may fusion Asian or French influence.
The wine card gives preference to South American wines, especially the remarkable Argentinean and Chilean ones.
The atmosphere at the restaurant is relaxed, particularly in the patio area. The service, however, is very attentive and kind to make your meal a gastronomic event.
Dishes and petiscos from the bar and the restaurant may also be served around the swimming pool for guests of Casa do Amarelindo.
The terrace is a unique and privileged place in the Pelourinho district to appreciate the breathtaking view of the Baia de Todos os Santos (All Saints’ Bay) and its islands, the lower city, the São Marcelo fort, the Convento do Carmo, and even the famous Bomfim church. It is an ideal place to enjoy sunset. In the daytime the terrace serves as solarium with chaises longues and a cooling shower. At sunset it is converted into a marvelously situated bar where you can enjoy delicious cocktails, including the unforgettable caipirinha, prepared with various tropical fruits (caja, caju, umbu, siriguela, graviola passion fruit, etc.) accompanied with a large choice of delicious tapas and finger-food. Until late at night, you can relax in this happy and friendly atmosphere.
Equipped with a running-machine, a bicycle and a multi-functional machine, the fitness centre allows the Casa do Amarelindo guests to do some exercises whilst facing the Baia de Todos os Santos (All Saints’ Bay) as they like.
