Location. Le Chateau d'Esclimont is located in St Symphorien le Chateau, France, 20 kilometres from Chartres town centre and 50 kilometres from the Palace of Versailles. Paris Orly Airport (ORY) is eight kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Set within 150 acres of woodland which includes a lake, Le Chateau d'Esclimont is a magnificent example of a sixteenth century French chateau and was once home to the French 17th century writer La Rochefoucauld. There is an open air heated swimming pool and two tennis courts. The hotel also has its own 17th century wine cellar and offers wine tasting evenings.

There is a restaurant on site, La Rochefoucauld, serving traditional French cuisine. There is also a cocktail bar, Louis XVIII. Both the restaurant and bar are decorated in rich 18th century style.

Expert Tip. The dazzling stained glass windows of Chartres Cathedral (20 kilometres from the hotel) are the most complete and perfectly preserved in France. Most date from between 1205 and 1240.
