Besides uniquely designed hotel rooms the historic building offers a café-restaurant with an oyster bar, a book shop, kiosk and a retro-style hairdresser. With the water taxi you can easily reach the city centre. At the Wilhelminapier on the Maas river, Hotel New York is established in the former headquarters of the Holland America Line. Until the early seventies, many passengers set sail to America from here, mostly with New York as their final destination. The symmetric façade of the building is characterized by bay windows, small towers, balconies and beautiful decorations. The hotel lies at the Kop van Zuid, an area that has seen many delevopments since the nineties. Besides impressive high-rise flats the area also offers restaurants, office buildings, shops and parks. From the hotel you have a magnificent view of the Rotterdam skyline. In the lobby you can purchase a newspaper or magazine at the small book shop. Across from the oyster bar there is a kiosk, that offers a range of products that are related to the hotel. The New York Barbershop in the basement features a retro-style interior. Here you can have a haircut or a shave. The hotel rooms vary in colour, shape and interior.
