Compiled for you: The facts!Details Bute Museum
| Description: |
The Bute Museum was opened in 1905 from an earlier collection, but didn't settle into its present home until 1926. Any find made on Bute since that period has been entrusted to the museum's care, thereby allowing artifacts to be kept locally. The main areas of interest covered by the museum are history from the Mesolithic period to the present day and natural history, with items relating to the flora and fauna of the island. Between April and September, the museum is open between 10.39 am and 4.30 pm from Monday to Saturday and between 2.30 and 4.30 pm on Sundays. The afternoon opening hours also apply from October to March. |
