This is the only museum of colour in the UK. It is divided into two distinct sections. These are entitled the World of Colour and the Colour and Textiles Gallery.
The World of Colour contains various exhibits that explain the properties of colours. There are experiments that show how different colours are perceived by different people and why some people and animals see the same colour completely differently.
The Colour and Textiles Gallery covers the history of colour, tracing it back to the early dyes used by the ancient Egyptians. The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am until 4pm. Admission is free.
The Arndale Shopping Centre is located right in the heart of Manchester city centre and is two floors high with an array of shops to choose from. There are multiple entrances into the complex and you can also enter through many of the stores that are located on the main shopping street.
The Arndale has its own NCP car park which is a pay and display car park and visitors can come out of the car park and straight into the Arndale. The Arndale Centre also features a traditional market area.
The Arndale houses over 200 different stores and has a wide variety of food restaurants including Starbucks and Nando's. During the year they host a lot of events and the Virgin Megastore that was opened by Richard Branson even has a stage for live performances.
Visitors can buy gift cards for the Arndale which can be used in any of the stores here and these can be bought at the customer service desk or you can purchase these online.

The Merseyway Shopping Centre
The Merseyway Shopping Centre in Stockport consists of a variety of different shops, department stores and a range of eateries. The shopping centre has a range of shops including well known stores.
It is open daily and the hours are as follows:
Monday to Saturday - from 9am until 5.30pm
Sunday - from 10am until 4pm
There is a pay and display public car park located just behind the shopping centre and local transport also runs adjacent to the main shopping area.
The Merseyway Shopping Centre also hosts events throughout the year and has many activities going on throughout the summer for children in the main square.
Opus nightclub is housed inside the Printworks building in Manchester city centre.
Due to it's prime location, it is easily accesible for a lot of visitors by train from Victoria station which is just around the corner.
Opus has a range of club nights to suit all tastes and they can also arrange private events for special occasions or business events.
You can get yourself on the guestlist by going online and can also sign up for membership which will give you access to special invites and be frst to find out new information on the club.
Westfield Derby is Derby's main shopping centre. It houses approximately 150 stores including cafes and hairdressers. The centre also includes an "Eat Central" or food hall. A 12 screen cinema is due to open in Spring 2008 and there is a childrens' soft play area called "Playworld". The centre has occasional events, details of which can be found on the website. They also offer a concierge service and have disabled facilities.

Pickford's House is Derby's museum of Georgian Life and Costume. Some rooms in the house are decorated and set out as they might have been in Joseph Pickford's time in the Georgian period and one of the cellars is equipped as an air-raid shelter of the 1940s. There are displays of toys, costumes and textiles on the upper floors. The costume and accessories collection dates from the eighteenth to the twentieth century.
There is parking at the rear of the house. There is disabled access to the ground floor and basement, but not yet to the upper floors. Also there are no toilets on the ground and basement floors. Baby changing facilities are available.
Entry is free of charge. Opening times are:
Monday: 11am - 5pm
Tuesday - Saturday: 10am - 5pm
Sundays & Bank Holidays: 1pm - 4pm
The museum closes over the Christmas hoiliday period.
