Description: Built by the Knights of Rhodes in the 14th century on the site of a 7th century fortress, much of the original Palace was destroyed by an explosion in 1856. It has served as a prison during the Ottoman era and was later converted to a residence for Mussolini. Restored in the late 1930's, it became a museum which features mosaics and sculptures from the Hellenistic period as well as furniture from the 15th century onwards.
