The Award-winning Hilton Maldives is located over two private islands, "among miles of idyllic white-sand beach and unspoilt reef", says the writer. Arriving by sea plane, you can choose accommodation in either 'Beach Villas' or 'Spa Villas'. The former offer 300 square metres of space, and the deluxe ones come with "private landscaped garden and personal plunge pool with jets." The Spa villas are described as "spacious" and are built on stilts over the water. The villas all enjoy "stunning ocean views from all windows", a sun deck and, befitting a spa resort, "a private treatment room". There is a good selection of restaurants too, including "the world's only underwater restaurant", the 'Ithaa Undersea', where the author writes you can "dine 16 feet below sea level" and "marvel at 360 views of reef and marine life, sip champagne cocktails and smaple Maldavian-Western Fusion cuisine". Alternatively, you can go to the "signature restaurant set in an idyllic beach setting between the lagoon and the Japanese water garden". The Koko Grill restaurant includes a teppanyaki grill and "authentic sushi". For a more local fee, the Atoll Market has "sand floors and lagoon views," and the author describes how you can "sample different world cuisines from its eight speciality kitchens". Lastly, the author described 'The Wine Cellar' as "a paradise for wine lovers", with over 300 fine wines to choose from while enjoying "a five course degustation menu" which is "created to enhance your choice of wine".
