The "high expectations" with which the author set off to Lapa Rios (due to numerous recent "awards and accolades") were actually "exceeded" by the "breathtaking reality" of this "spectacular" Private Nature Reserve. Situated in "one of the last remaining lowland tropical forests", all bungalows are "built exclusively of local materials" and are "casually decorated with comfortable bamboo furniture".
