[Jamie73, 08/01/2008] The Astronomical Clock is located in the middle of the Old Town Centre and is actually mounted on the southern wall of the Old Town Hall. The Clock is one of the most popular attractions in Prague and hundreds of tourists gather at the base of the clock just before the hour to see the clock chime. The astronomical dial on the clock represents the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and also displays other various astronomical details. [toombsey, 18/04/2007] The Astronomical Clock is located on the side of the Town Hall Tower. It is very ornate and dates back to the 15th century. Every hour on the hour a door opens and Christ and his disciples march out of the clock. The clock chimes with the death tolls from the skeleton of death. Below the clock there are the 12 signs of the zodiac. As you can imagine the crowds gather round the clock all day, but as the hour strikes there are twice as many people. The author recounts the tale of the clock maker, who was blinded by the council after making the clock, so he could not repeat this architecture.
