[13/11/2008] Possagno è un piccolo paesetto situato tra il fiume Piave e il monte Grappa. Se non avesse avuto la fortuna di essere paese natale del famoso scuoltore Antonio Canova probabilmente sarebbe passato inosservato. Proprio perchè suo paese d'origine, Canova ha voluto costruire questa maestosa opera. La storia infatti racconta che Canova, nel momento d'oro della sua carriera, quando il suo patrimonio era di elevato valore, decise di fare un regalo alla chiesa: una scultura alta 20 metri in marmo raffigurante la chiesa cattolica e da posizionare in Vaticano.
