When you get talking to fellow travelers from around the world, they’re either planning on returning or tell you stories about how this is their favourite spot in the whole of south africa. Amapondo is more than your regular cool backpackers, there’s something in the air that you can’t quite put your finger on but is truly addictive. And it actually has a name, too: Pondo Fever. [Rina11, 15/09/2009] This guest house is wonderfully relaxed and chilled. It's gardens go down to the beach. They only serve breakfast, but there is a restaurant on the premises.
We bird watched and saw 25 species in the morning, although the Cape Parrot unfortunately didn't appear.
Later we canoed on the Umzimvubu river, which is on their doorstep.
The rooms are lovely, and the showers are to die for!
We also did cultural trip, visiting a Pondo village, that was so amazing!
