The hotel impressed this author, Jennawae, from the outset as she describes it as "impeccable". The grounds were "beautiful" and there was "very tasteful decor". The bedrooms were found to be "a little plain". The main bar was "quite nice" and the swim-up bar, "alright" but some of the drinks were "delicious". Jennawae ate at the three a la carte restaurants on site and found the grill to be "nice", the Italian to be "very delicious" and the Mexican to be "a little bland". Scott visited the Playa Dorada Resort with his wife and two young children in June 2005 and overall they were "very pleased with the resort" and found it to be "clean and appealing". The room was "very simple" and equipment worked "adequately" all week. However, Scott did fine the beds to be "too small and old". The pools were "very nice". The quiet pool was much cleaner than the main pool but the staff were "always cleaning and sweeping". Nic and Ny travelled to the playa Dorado Resort in the summer of 2005 and after a speedy check-in, discovered their rooms to be "clean" with adequate facilities. The hotel grounds were thought to be "beautiful" and "very clean and quiet". There are two pools on the resort and the main pool was "more lively with music and games" but due to its location it is "not as crystal clear" although it was cleaned "every morning".
