[goodspkr, 23/07/2010] As an American who travels frequently to Mexico, we have gone to VIM twice and are going back in December. Obviously we like the place and here are the reasons why.
1. Beautiful rooms and very comfortable beds. We find that at most Mexican resorts (even good ones) you can either sleep on the concrete floor or the bed with equal comfort. VIM has tempurpedic type beds that are very comfortable. The rooms themselves are large and comfortable with couches, tables and separate showers and bathtubs. You have a combination safe and internet access in your room.
2. The grounds are gorgeous

[tausten, 16/05/2010] This is one of the best value for money all inclusive hotels in the carribean. The food is terrific at every resturant of which there are 7. With a small number of guests it is all about service and quality.
[catylane, 14/01/2010] Great location, qualified service, excellent rates! Don't miss it!

==================
WE STAYED HERE LAST YEAR and to be honest it was a fairly decent hotel.
In need of a little TLC but otherwise Not bad.
Trip from the airport takes about 40 minutes and you see some deprived areas, not a pleasant start to your holiday and you eventually reach the high gated communities which contain the multitude of 3, 4 and 5 star hotels.
You are now in Playa del Carmen.
The hotel is one of the Riu brand and just down the beach from Its superior neighbour The Riu Palace and similarly just over the road is the hotels sister the Tequila and a

[mirabai, 25/02/2009] My husband and I have stayed several times at the Blue Pearl In Playa del Carmen. We love it because it is very close to the beach and we like to swim first thing in the morning. We have our first coffe on the private terrace with a nice view, and we also like that the restaurants are very close by. It´s a beautiful place, service is excellent
[zeger23, 14/02/2009] Beautiful, well located, unique ambiance.
[playaholidays, 02/02/2009] I really enjoyed my stay in this precious little hotel!!! The rooms are beautiful and very clean. We requested a fridge and a microwave and got both for a small extra fee. The service is fantastic!!! All the staff deserve recognition. It is also very well located, one block away from the main avenue, two from the bus station, and two from the beach!!! Breakfast is not included, but there are lots of small places around the block, you don't even need to cross the street to eat! They even have a parking lot!! We arrived by car and it was relieving to have our car safely parked inside of the prop

[Sherrydawn, 12/01/2009] My Husband and i just stayed at the Ocean Maya resort for 2 weeks in November, it was our honeymoon,
we loved this place.
We both hope to return to the ocean maya this spring. They were having a few problems with the water, but we were moved to a beautiful suite located right on the beach, we were right by the pool, by the pool bar,the mexican A la Carte, and we were right on the ocean.
The people thatwork at this resort are wonderful, the food was excellent, the weather was great. My husband has been every where, more then once, yet he said this was his best vacation ever and that normall

[magda1976, 09/10/2008] My family traveled to Riviera Maya , Playa del Carmen Mexico . We stayed at Riu Palace Riviera Maya from September 30th to October 7th. The Resort was beautiful , the beds in the room were really unfomfortable , we had to ask for a mattress pad, the pillows were very hard , I have severe neck pain from the pillows. When getting there ask to have your liquer dispenser filled and you need to keep asking cause they don't do it like stated on the liquer cabnet. The buffet food was really good, if you want to eat at there restaurants, you need to make reservations two days ahead of time.

[miguelortizmillan, 07/10/2008] The best hotel with best service. You get caviar in the buffet and an iPod in your room
[spicy, 20/08/2008] We spent 4 nights at the Karma in June 08 and it was really fantastic. As soon we checked in our room I was very pleased to find the hotel was more beautiful than the photos on their website. The staff was very friendly and fun to talk to; the grounds were well kept; the room was cozy but not squished; and the access to the City of Playa was superb!
Perfect location just far enough away from the major bussle but close enough to absolutely everything we needed.
[lastone, 18/07/2008] Great location, great views, nicely furnished, BUT... With two nightclubs flanking this complex ("Fusion" - North side, "Bang" - South side coming soon 7 / 2008) any quiet nights left after Fusions (many) live music nights are gone, baby, gone. Some will say that the higher up you are the better off, but the windows in this place aren't quality. I stayed there last week and I know this to be fact. There were times that music, hooting, howling and whistling were heard over a tv.
I am sure that this is true of any new condo development of many that are cropping up in PdC. (provided there is a need

[peacock, 05/10/2007] I feel very fortunate to have stayed here and would love to go back.
The Mexican people were very friendly and welcoming.
[ecbyeh, 22/12/2006] At the Cancun airport near the baggage claim area, stand people dressed in uniforms who falsely misrepresent themselves as government officials. One of those people offered his assistance in providing traveling tips for Cancun. This person told us that they worked for local Mexican-owned resorts in Cancun to promote their businesses to American travelers. We were offered a no-obligation tour with a resort called Fishermens Village, which operates under a business entity called the Sunset Group. They asked us to take a van ride to the hotel, eat breakfast, and take a look at their facility. In

[julie-b, 17/03/2006] was there March 4-11, this resort is not ready not even close. The tour operators, well actually only Signature sent us there, knowing well that is was not ready all other tour companies, mostley Apple out of the USA redirected their guests to a 6 star riu palace and also gave them a free trip back to sandos when it is ready...we were the guinea pigs and they are gonna pay, cause none of us will stand for this...total compensation being requested. The travel business is serious business, we save all year and get lied to, no way.
