If you want to learn and know how the life inside a tunnel, then this one will surely give the thrill of your life while going inside the Japanese Tunnel. It is located along Diversion Road particularly at Matina Balusong district.
I was able to go there with my co-workers after our lunch from nearby eatery. We decided to try the Japanese Tunnel. I was the first to go inside because my companion was still undecided if they will proceed or not because of the entrance fee. The fee is affordable but that time it was an unplanned adventure.
Yet because of too much curiosity and as well as the feeling of thrill, I decided to go ahead. I was accompanied by a female guide. She let me went ahead for a few steps.
As we slowly walking towards the inner part of the tunnel, my guide was talking about its history. After a few steps, which i think about 8 to 10 meters away from the entrance, I was warned by my guide that I need to stoop down for awhile because there is a narrow portion along the tunnel.
It was dark inside only a few bulbs slightly illuminated the whole stretch. It added the thrill. You could not hold the feeling of fear because of the a possible cave-in. But it is just a fruit of your imagination and fear.
You can see inside different replicas of Japanese soldiers and a Buddha. It was really a great adventure. I am planning to go there again together with my daughter sometime this summer.
