[Mikesh, 16/11/2011] We went to see a thai boxing match here and staying in patong this stadium was very convenient. It is located right behind the Jungceylon shopping mall(2 minute walk from there). The stadium is nice and spacious. One part of the seating area is reserved for the local people. We went for the normal passes and were happy we didn't take vip seats. When we tried sitting at same level as the vip(chairs on the floor) we found the view every bad. When sat at a little height we could see better, only negative in the normal section is that people walking around might hinder your view for a few seconds

[Mikesh, 09/11/2011] A must do once for the experiences. We manged to bargain the rates to 700 bhat per person(6 of us in total) for 30 minutes. They didn't try to sell us the 1 hr for the better view, but we were happy we didn't take it longer than 30 minutes as it would have been long and too hot(went around 1 pm). In the middle we stopped the view point for some pictures, where all of a sudden the Mahout(elephant driver) removed a box and tried selling some memorable calling it elephant ivory stuff(fake ivory as we cud tell by the price). Do not but it from them as it is over priced. AT the end we decided to f

[Mikesh, 09/11/2011] We found the owner a little rude and shrewd. We had a group of about 20 people out of which about 10 were going to do the Bungee. The owner refused to negotiate the price at all even after such a large group. We were the only people there at that point and he made it very clear, if you don't jump and come back down you wont be given another shot(his cost was nothing for just going up in the lift again). One of the group people didn't jump and came down. He was very rude and had an attitude that he didn't care(some kindness for such a large group). Finally he agreed to give that person a chance

[Mikesh, 04/11/2011] Decent Mexican food(not as good as In the US) and has a good location( near the middle end of Patong beach). It is situated on the 1st floor and is non-ac. This makes it a nice place to have a few drinks and eat some good food in the evenings(day its too hot). The view if fantastic from there. The servers are really nice and they did have 99bhat specials on Margaritas all day every day.
[Mikesh, 02/11/2011] Its nice beach, a bit dirty for me and a bit too much commercialization for me. The beach in long but not too much (left to right) but not too big from the street to the ocean. There are too many food carts all along the beach. There are way too many touts offering massages and water sports and it can really be irritating. You cant walk for 30 seconds without some one approaching you. At night there are people selling lanterns to light in the air and also firecrackers to burst on the beach. The area near the police station(near Bangla road) is full of hookers at night. There are also peopl

[Mikesh, 02/11/2011] This place is full of hookers and transvestites. Most of the people working in bars are trying to themselves to single guys. You can see guys dry huping bar girls and feeling them up. The girls don't even stop it but in fact encourage it. In fact 2-3 girls are trying to get the guys attention and are trying to go home with him. You find lady boys and girls dancing on stripper poles all around the road. There are touts who try to get people to go to some sex shows. The drink prices are negotiable, easily 1 / 3rd for these shows. Other bars have decent prices about 140-180 for a small black label,

[Mikesh, 02/11/2011] It is expensive but it is a must see for tthe sets and dances. A tuk tuk or taxi is 200 bhats to the place and 200 back -from patong beach and it is very easy to get taxis outside the place, so no need to take their transportation of 100 bhat per person each way to the show. It is 10 minutes from patong beach to reach the show by cab / tuk tuk. At the end of the show the performers are standing outside and pull people to take pictures. They tend to pull people to click pictures and you are expected to tip them. The next few lines are spoilers so please do not read if you do not want to know any

[Mikesh, 02/11/2011] It is a good place for shopping, with a great location at the north end of Bangla road. Have some nice brands on the 1st floor with cheaper stuff on the ground. The 3rd floor is full of electronic and acceseserries for electronics. Once you enter the mall from the main entrance there will be a circle with a ship. If you enter from there and go towards the straight end of the mall(after passing all the massage places) there is an export 71 shop with really good stuff at very reasonable prices. They have 71 brands under then with shorts and jackets at about 380 bhat. Make sure to try every thin

[Mikesh, 01/11/2011] We stayed here for 4 nights and weren't too impressed by the staff or the rooms. We had 3 rooms and in those rooms 2 of them had an awful smell. We changed them and the other 2 rooms along with the old room still had a hint of the smell. As we just had to sleep in it , it bother us too much but we would choose another hotel next time. The view of the rooms isn't that good. The main pool is on the 7th floor so none of the rooms get that view. The best view you can ask for is the kiddie pool. The breakfast was really good and so was the in room dining. Specially recommend the thai food and th

[Mikesh, 01/11/2011] Cant say too much as we stayed here only for a night. But the location is better than both Courtyard Marriot and Burasari(all in the same area). The biggest plus point is the entrace on all the 3 side, the main beach which has a bar , the back road which has cheaper street shopping and in the middle on the lane. The bar is an awesome place to chill and have a drink. Along with the ambiance and atmosphere and the bartenders are very nice. The rooms are nice and nothing much to complain about as we weren't in the room at all.
[sawasdee-you, 20/08/2011] I have stayed in Patong many times now over the past 12 years, returning up to three times a year. Over the years I had been put off of booking this hotel by the bad reviews i had read. Having always used the grounds as a shortcut to the beach, bangla road and more recently jungceylon. I bit the bullet and booked at a remarkably low price of 1200 baht per night for 10 of my 29 nights in patong. Location was always a no brainer for me, easy access to the beach, even easier access to soi bangla and also the shopping at jungceylon. Two large pools which were suprisingly quiet all day long (my las

[EXPERDITION2, 03/03/2011] DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! Stove and TV didnt work properly. Broken into while in next room and personal effects stolen. Major electrical fire which filled the villa with smoke and caused loss of power. After several hours and no luck contacting maid or owner we moved with our kids to a hotel. We emailed the owner to tell him what had happened and why we had been forced to move. He said he would have the problem fixed, this was the last we heard from him. We spent the remainer of our stay in the hotel with no word from the owner as to weather the problem had been fixed. We asked for a refund for t

[tommypnr, 11/06/2010] The room is well designed and clean. Location of the hotel is a fair distance to the beach but hop on a motorcycle will give you and easy access to everywhere in Patong. Rate for the room and breakfast is considered good value. Staffs of the hotel are friendly and quite helpful. A van transfer is very comfortable but slightly expensive

[ranger, 11/01/2009] I visited Patong beach, Phuket in April 2008,
I was staying at andamans house hotel (which was 15 minutes walk to the beach)
Patong is just like other beaches in Thailand: clean, well equipped (chairs and umbrellas), vendors selling fresh fruit and cold drinks.
The only problem is that during April Phukets weather is extremely fluctuating : it is hot and sunny in the morning (so ideal for beach going).. then at around 15:00 it suddenly gets very very cloudy and in a period of minutes it starts heavily raining (so the vendors by the beach starts closing and staff removing the chairs)
