[pierrejacques, 14.03.2007] Described as "a good bet for those who want to be near the Opéra", this 19th-century building is located on the same street where "Victor Hugo and Auguste Rodin lived" and once "Modigliani rented a room for 6 months". Guest rooms are said to be "meticulously coordinated" in keeping with the interiors which had been "modernized into a glossy internationalism" and, in keeping with the programme, "five rooms are renovated" annually. The author notes that "the small decorative canopies over the headboards" make the rooms "feel cluttered". All rooms feature "a tub/shower combination" and though "some guests prefer the quiet of the rear rooms", the author states that "the views over the back courtyard are uninspired". Nevertheless, Frommers recommend a stay at the Hôtel de la Tour d'Auvergne.
