Compiled for you: The facts!Details Box Cañon Falls

Description: Box Cañon Falls Park is located just south of the small mountain town of Ouray and is home to the Box Cañon waterfall which forms where the Canyon Creek drops 285 feet into the canyon below.

A visitor centre is open from May to October and has a small museum with displays about the history of the attraction. There are three walking trails which are open all year and offer different views of the park; a High Bridge Trail with a 200 feet climb to a metal bridge suspended across the gorge; a moderate trail leading across metal walkways and stairs to the base of the falls; and finally a Native Plant Loop with identified plants and trees. Each offers a very different perspective on the park, but none is really suitable for push-chairs or wheelchairs.

Ample parking is available as are toilets and a small picnic area. The park can be approached by car along a small side road off Highway 550 or on foot by walking to the end of Third Street

Entrance is $3 per adult; $1.50 for children and $2.50 for seniors.
Summer hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Obviously in winter, the falls are frozen!
