, 08/09/2007] We got the impression that the city is in the middle of a process of lifting its profile and its provisions for tourists, holidaymakers and those attending conferences. As with most of the country, this is a city which caters more for the winter season than the summer. I would imagine that a family with small chldren coming to Oulu for a summer holiday, could find it very hard to amuse themselves for a fortnight here. But for those who enjoy peace and quiet, long walks in pleasant situations, and somewhere quite different from the hustle and bustle of UK life, this is really an enjoyable place
