[02.06.2008] Although I live only 200 km away from Ottawa I had never before been there until recently when we had relatives visiting us from the UK. As part of their intro to Canada trip we took them to Ottawa for a couple of days and boy were we shocked at how fantastic the city was. In particular Parliament Hill is just the best place to be. The architecture is fantastic, the scenery great and it is all FREE! [more]

[01.06.2008] Although located away from the city, this hotel offers excellent amenities and is only a short bus journey from Ottawa city centre. Well worth staying here if you don't mind crossing the road and hopping on a bus for 15 minutes to get the city centre. [more]

[17.02.2008] Algonquin Provincial Park is simply stunning. Because we now live quite close (2 hr drive) we have been here on a few occasions at different times of the year. The park is great because it can be appreciated by just about anyone, you don't even have to get out your car if you don't want to. The first time we visited we actually had no intention of going there, we just went on a drive. Looking at the map we realise [more]

[10.02.2008] The Eaton Centre Toronto is a large shopping mall located in the heart of the city off Yonge Street. It also forms part of Torontos underground pedestrian system PATH. It is a magnificent building with a glass roof making it bright and inviting, even in the winter. One of the features of the mall, apart from the shops of course is the display of Canada Geese suspended from the roof. This is a sculpture by Michael Sno [more]

[10.02.2008] When you visit the CN Tower you can purchase several ticket types which take into account the different levels available on the tower as well as some additional entertainment. You ned to be aware of what each has to offer in order to choose the best ticket for yourself. The main observation deck is called The Lookout and this is where the best views are. There is also the Glass Floor which as its name suggests is [more]

Convenient hotel in Belleville

Travel date: July 2006
[23.04.2007] When my husband and I emigrated near Belleville we had to stay in a local hotel on two separate occatsions. The first for two weeks whilst we house hunted in April 06 and the second for three weeks before our house was ready to move into July 06. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn mainly because I had enough Marriott point to allow us to stay free for over two weeks, so didnt consider any other hotels in Belleville, but [more]

[18.04.2007] This hotel is located off the airport and you need to either drive there or use the courtesy bus offered by the hotel. You can use the airport phones to get straight through to the hotel and they will send the bus out to you. Ours was with us in less than ten minutes. The driver loaded our cases in the back for us and drove very well. The hotel check in was quick and efficient and he explained where the breakfast [more]

A touch of luxury in Toronto

Travel date: february 2005
[17.04.2007] We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel; it was very comfortable and had all the home comforts including a very comfortable bed and great pillows. I can definitely recommend this if you are planning a stay in Toronto. [more]

Three nights in Toronto hotel

Travel date: December 2006
[16.04.2007] The location was great and the amenities ok, however the mustiness in the room was a definite downside, perhaps with hindsight we should have asked to be moved to another room, but never mind. So, would we stay in this hotel again, probably not when there are so many others in the area to choose from? [more]
