, 30/01/2009] After a week at the beach and by the pool in Platanias we were quite restless and ready for a hiking trip to the famous Gorge of Samaria in the national park of Samaria. The best way to go there is to attend an organized bus tour. The bus will take you to the top and will pick you up at the end. It is not a good idea to go here by rental car, because you would have to go back up to get your car... The Gorge of Samaria is about 16 km long and is quite an experience. The entrance fee is about 5€. In the middle of the summer it is a bit crowded, but it gets better the further down you get. About
