[more]Poets' Corner is a small, homelike hostel right in the historic centre of Olomouc. The shared dorm rooms are all big and colourful and we believe them to be the best value accommodation in Olomouc. The private rooms all have real double beds and can be Twins, Doubles, Triples or Quads (let us know if your first choice is not available here). If the beds on this website have sold out, it doesn't necessarily mean the hostel is full. Send us a quick email to find out. September: The best month to visit in our opinion. The university students are all back from summer holidays, the weather is (mostly) still good, all the nearby castles, caves etc are still open and in Olomouc itself it seems as soon as one festival ends, the next one begins. (Radecky weekend, International Organ Music festival, Mini-beerfest, Days of European Cultural Heritage, Sovinec castle festival, Orientation week concerts and the last events of the Olomouc Cultural Summer). Ice Hockey: Olomouc is in the first league of the Czech national competition and home games are on 8, 14, 19, 24, 28 Sept. and 5, 10, 12, 22, 26 Oct. Tickets are less than 3 Euros and there's always space for extra fans. Activities: Most afternoons through September we'll be running free activities for our guests; it might be a walking tour, an afternoon tea of traditional local pastries, swimming out at the lake if the weather is good enough, or just coming along with staff to do the kind of things you'd do if you lived here (bike trips, catch a hockey match, see a film at the outdoor cinema, search for new graffiti / stencil art or check out some of the lesser known student pubs).
